Volunteers

Volunteerism is so important to our community that Volunteer Canada sets aside a whole week per year to pay tribute to the 12.5 million individuals that give of their time, energy and skills to make our world a better place.  Statistics have even shown that volunteering helps to build social networks, increases the skill-level of individuals, reduces stress and even promotes health and wellness.

We could not succeed without the help of dedicated volunteer staff and we want to thank you for considering the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness a worthy cause to place your valuable volunteer hours.

Together, we want to make this a fulfilling experience for you and so would like to know as much about you as possible.  What are your skill sets and what would you prefer to do? How many hours do you have to volunteer €“ is it a couple of hours a month or do you have set days each week that you want to fill?

There are many areas of volunteerism that are available to you through the CCAA such as:
– Work in our office (answering telephones, administrative duties, help with
promotions);
– Assist in our warehouse (receiving, shipping & organizing);
– Help out at our fundraising events (set up/tear-down, sell raffle tickets etc);

As you can see there are many areas that are open to you.  So, the next step is for you to request and fill out our Volunteer Application Form and  send it to info@abusehurts.ca or fax to 905-967-0825. Next you will need to obtain a vulnerable sector screening. Click Here for the vulnerable sector screening application.  Then you are ready to go!

Call and let us know how you would like to help out and how much time you have to spend…we will find just the right place for you!
