Huggum’s Hope Memorial

Honoring the Littlest Lives Lost

A voice for the voiceless. A Name for the Nameless.

A Final Resting Place For Abandoned Babies

Every year, babies die after being abandoned—often by parents who themselves are trapped in cycles of trauma, abuse, or desperate circumstances. These children are not only lost too soon, but many are never named, never held, and never laid to rest with dignity.

Ellen Campbell, CEO and Founder of Abuse Hurts, has called this “the earliest form of abuse.” Her heart broke for these unclaimed lives buried in unnamed graves—tiny cries that went unheard. In response, she created the Huggums Hope Memorial, a sacred space and initiative that ensures these infants are remembered, honoured, and mourned.

Giving Every Life the Dignity it Deserves

The Huggums Hope Memorial is more than a resting place; it is a symbol of remembrance, awareness, and compassion. This program speaks to the soul of Abuse Hurts by honouring these lost lives, we shed light on the need for early intervention, education and support for parents in crisis. Through this memorial, Abuse Hurts ensures that abandoned babies:

  • Receive a proper burial, name and service
  • Are acknowledged with love and respect, even in death.
  • Serve as a call to action, to prevent these tragedies by raising awareness, offering support to struggling parents and addressing the root causes of abandonment.
