A day of care, confidence and healing.
WHY MAKE-OVER DAYS?
Makeover Days are special experiences created to uplift women who have lived through abuse. In partnership with community agencies, small groups of 6–8 women are welcomed to Abuse Hurts for a day of pampering and self-care.
Each woman enjoys professional hair and makeup services, along with the opportunity to select new and gently used clothing from our donated boutique collection. More than a makeover, this day is about building confidence, self-esteem, and a renewed sense of possibility.
If you are a partner agency looking to offer this service, please email our program coordinator by clicking on the button below. Makeover days also create a safe space for connection. Women share the experience together, forming bonds with others who understand their journey. With the support of caring volunteers and staff, these days remind every participant: you are not alone! It does this by:
Abuse can take away more than physical safety, it can erode a woman’s sense of self-worth. Our makeover days help women feel beautiful, cared for and valued while also reminding them of their own strength.
Whether stepping into a job interview, reconnecting with the community, or starting a new chapter in life, confidence matters. Outfits, self-care and encouragement help participants feel prepared to move forward with dignity.
Alongside emotional uplift, women leave with clothing and essentials they can use every day. This practical support helps ease financial stress while contributing to a sense of renewal.

Makeover days are made possible by the generosity of volunteers, donors and community partners. Whether you are a hairstylist, make-up artist, fashion consultant, or simply someone who wants to help, your time, donation and care can make a world of difference.
