Resources

We have compiled a selection of resources for families and practitioners to help increase awareness and provide support for families and individuals affected by abuse.  Each resource or book  list provides a summary of the content and quick links to access or purchase the items from their source.

The lists we have developed include:

  • Self-Help Resources for Adults which provide information and support on topics such as child sexual abuse, understanding its impact and steps that people can take on a path to healing.
  • Self-Help Resources for Teens which are designed and geared to teenagers and provides information about the physical and emotional impacts of being a child abuse survivor. This book list also includes resources that speak to how to overcome pain and confusion and provide tips on how to cope.
  • Resource Books for Young Children includes a series of age appropriate books that parents and caregivers can use with children to help them understand how to be safe, have a voice and seek help from a trusted adult.
  • Resource Books for Practitioners is a book list designed specifically for practitioners who work with children and families who have experienced sexual abuse. The list includes resources that cover everything from creating safe spaces and talking to children and survivors of sexual abuse,  to dealing with the pedophilia clinical populations
