Our Story
With support from Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE), we launched a multi-year project focused on preventing violence against women, especially marginalized girls and women, by elevating survivor voices and building cross-sector collaboration. Our goals were to:
Real Stories. Powerful Conversations.
Experience the powerful discussions and invaluable insights showcased in our esteemed Hope Conference Series. You can listen to inspiring and thought-provoking conference recordings that spotlight how community leaders, survivors and advocates are working to identify and address barriers and work to end domestic and intimate partner violence.

The LEARN Conference focused on understanding the current experience of survivors, sharing stories and identifying gaps and opportunities. This includes research, personal experience, and learning about existing approaches to violence prevention and how to make mindful changes.

The LEVERAGE Conference focused on how we might collaborate, break down stereotypes and build bridges in our communities to address domestic and intimate partner violence.

The LEAD Conference focused on how to move to action, breaking down inequality barriers, identifying leading practices for prevention, detection and intervention and exploring future possibilities to address domestic and intimate partner violence.
HELPING LEADERS TAKE ACTION AGAINST INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE
The Make a Difference | Be a Leader Awareness Campaign was designed to support all community leaders, including those in the first responder, healthcare and education sectors. Our stakeholders identified that leaders in the community didn’t feel empowered to make change, and were unaware that intimate or interpersonal violence was an escalating issue. Generally, there was a lack of awareness on how to take intentional action. This toolkit is designed to increase awareness and engagement with all types of leaders in our community. Learn more about the campaign in the Guideline document included in the Social Media Kit below.
